“It is a truth universally acknowledged,” that there are too many books and just not enough time to read…so, let me help you weed through the good, bad and ugly. (Pride and Prejudice, 1813)
I have always been addicted to reading. I have a book with me at all times, and have not gone a day without reading. Even when I am sick or have migraines I will turn on an audiobook. I buy books and eBooks, borrow from the library and eLibrary and request or am offered ARCs (Advance Reading Copies) books and eBooks. I collect book related collectables and instead of an old cat lady, I will be the old boo lady. It breaks my heart to see a book not have a home.
I am a fan of all genres, but mysteries are near and dear to my heart. I also love reading nonfiction (history, social justice and biographies), historical fiction and children’s books. I love rereading books from my childhood as it lets me relive a moment in time. With some books I miss the “first” read feeling, but reliving those moments is definitely second best. Books have been my best friends and siblings. They have taken me away to a place where I feel safe and loved. It’s more than just pastime, it is a way to keep me grounded.
If you ever need a book recommendation or an author suggestion, please do not hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you would like to contact me for reviews please include as many details as you can. I will accept print copies, eARCs and audiobooks. Print copies will be given priority for reviews (due to the cost of printing and shipping). Please note: I publish all reviews regardless of ratings. If you would only like reviews for high ratings, please do not submit ARCs. UPDATE: While I enjoy discovering new independent authors I will not be accepting anything but historical fiction and suspense mysteries.
I am also just as passionate about writing so you will see not just reviews but other pieces of writing that are my own. I believe that we are all human and deserve the same rights and considerations. As much as I am an aspiring writer, I am also an aspiring activist. I believe in women’s right, civil rights and LGBT rights and am against racism and violence. I have many thoughts on this matter but all these will be in thoughts and musings so if you are for just the book stuff, that’s all right too.
If you would like to publish or use any review on my site, please do so with a mention. I love a little attention 🙂 If you would like to publish any of my poetry, personal essay or short stories, please contact me directly.
I hope you enjoy your time on My Novelesque Life.
